We meticulously designed the new office space for INFOLD in Los Angeles, USA. This project not only overcame the challenges of cross-national communication and cultural differences but also cleverly addressed the spatial limitations of the building itself. The building features a unique sawtooth-shaped façade, and its overall layout is L-shaped, posing significant challenges for spatial planning. Through thoughtful design strategies, we not only resolved these issues but also created a spatial layout that is layered and rhythmically dynamic. By fully utilizing the zigzag lines of the façade, we transformed corners that might have resulted in wasted space into regular square areas. Each small space retains its square form, and through a clever arrangement, they are organized into a richly layered and orderly spatial sequence. This design not only enhances the sense of order in the office area but also imbues the space with a dynamic flow, providing INFOLD’s employees with a workspace that is both functional and visually appealing.
The reception area at the entrance is seamlessly connected to the front desk, creating a unique atmosphere that is both relaxed and subtly formal. The floor features a gray tone, sharply contrasted by gradient red carpeting in select areas, clearly delineating the front desk zone while showcasing a minimalist yet distinctive identity. This design strikes a balance between professionalism and vitality, allowing visitors to immediately sense the company's unique charm and tranquil ambiance upon entering.
The transition between the flooring materials and wall finishes in the corridor creates a visually distinct sense of layering, establishing a "progressive" spatial rhythm. Different textured materials are used at the junctions of the floor and walls, allowing light to softly reflect and refract on their surfaces. The interplay of light and shadow changes with the passage of time, infusing the corridor with a dynamic sense of vitality.
▲走廊连接的办公区、楼梯与打印区 / Office area, stairs and printing area connected by corridor
The staircase is not merely a passage connecting the two levels; we have thoughtfully integrated a printing area and a towering wooden bookshelf beside it, adding both functionality and aesthetic value to what is typically a mundane space. The light wood tones harmonize seamlessly with the surrounding gray and white environment, creating a cohesive and unified visual effect that enhances the overall sense of the space. These carefully crafted design details transform the corridor from a simple passageway into a "transitional space" linking various functional areas. Through a rhythmic design language, the entire office space is seamlessly connected, imparting greater spatial depth and a dynamic sense of rhythm.
The pantry is located at the corner of the corridor, with a double-height design that ensures ample natural light penetration, creating a warm and bright hub for socializing and relaxation. In this gray-and-white-toned space, the pantry injects a touch of vitality into the serene environment. A gradient red carpet in the central area adds energy, complementing the light wood-toned bar counter to bring warmth and vibrancy to the space. The thoughtful combination of colors and materials strikes a balance between the tranquility of the office and the casual, cheerful ambiance of the pantry, making the entire area harmonious yet rhythmically dynamic.

Light and Openness: A Harmony of Natural and Artificial Lighting
The space features an L-shaped layout, brought to life through the integration of vertical double-height areas and natural lighting. In the corridor, interior windows allow natural light to flow in, enriching the corridor's visual depth and sense of layering. Additionally, the double-height design above the corridor lets sunlight cascade from above, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow that shifts throughout the day. This approach not only enhances the brightness of the space but also improves the overall transparency of the office, providing employees with a bright and comfortable working environment.
The dining area on the second floor is seamlessly connected to the double-height space, providing employees with a relaxing and airy retreat. The open design allows for visual and spatial connectivity between the upper and lower levels, achieving a delicate balance between openness and privacy across different functional areas.
The open office area on the second floor is closely integrated with the high-ceilinged space, offering employees expansive views and a smooth spatial experience. The tall windows on one side blend harmoniously with the overall design, making the entire area bright and transparent, creating a highly pleasant and inviting work environment.

Balance of Stability and Energy: Refined Use of Colors and Materials
The overall design employs light gray, white, and light wood tones as the foundation, creating an elegant and tranquil atmosphere that reflects a poised and dignified corporate image. To break the subdued tone, vibrant red accents are strategically introduced in key areas such as the reception, pantry, and meeting rooms, adding a touch of vitality. The gray background walls, red carpeting, and black-and-white company logo create a sense of visual depth while subtly conveying warmth and innovation through the details. This thoughtful color palette not only underscores the company’s professionalism but also offers employees and visitors a visually delightful experience.

Openness and Privacy: Functional Optimization and Thoughtful Zoning
In the open office area, we utilized Steelcase furniture, integrating its smart partition designs to provide employees with a work experience that balances openness and privacy. The office layout is designed to facilitate team collaboration while offering relatively independent spaces for inpidual tasks. This layout ensures seamless communication while allowing employees to focus in a comfortable environment.
In the design of INFOLD's Los Angeles office space, unique spatial arrangements and skillful material combinations push the boundaries of traditional office environments. The design not only meets functional needs but also creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The precision and warmth of the reception area, the rhythm of the corridors, and the brightness and vitality of the pantry collectively shape a space rich in layers and depth.
This space is more than just a workplace—it is a platform for fostering interaction and creativity. Here, employees can focus on their tasks while enjoying moments of relaxation and social connection. The flexible open layout, combined with exquisite design details, infuses warmth and approachability into the overall dignified and composed tone, creating an office space that exudes natural comfort and charm.
